Anthony Wolimbwa

Anthony Wolimbwa is a seasoned climate change advocate with over 20 years of experience in national and international climate change policy. He has worked as a researcher and environmental advocate with various national NGOs in Uganda. His advocacy work is on National Forest Policies, Wetlands, and Climate Change (Climate Finance, Loss and Damage, adaptation financing, climate justice) where he has campaigned for fair and pro-poor policies.
He holds A BA (Hons) Environmental Management, PGD Environmental Journalism and Communication and other post Graduate Certificates on Climate Change Adaptation, GHG Inventory (Waste Management area), DRR, Wetlands conservation, organic agriculture, and chemicals management.
He represents the Civil Society to the National Designated Authority hosted by the Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development and the National Climate Change Advisory Committee hosted by the Ministry of Water and Environment. He is also a member of the Technical Committee – National Climate Finance Strategy and the Carbon Market Regulations Task Force. He further represents CSOs on the core technical team for the National Adaptation Program (NAPs). He is very passionate about the youth’s engagement in environment and climate action.
